Equus Rubber Bit Guards

Rubber bit guards slip over the bit cheeks to create a soft barrier between the metal bit and your horse's mouth. This cushioning layer helps reduce friction and irritation that can cause bit rubs, making them especially useful for horses sensitive to bit contact or those that tend to grab the bit shank.

These stretch rubber bit guards are designed to fit over standard bit cheeks and will accommodate most common bit sizes. The premium soft polymer rubber stretches to adapt to different bit widths, making them a versatile solution for most horses.

Yes—customers report these guards are super easy to install. You simply stretch the rubber over the bit cheeks, and they stay securely in place during riding. They're equally simple to remove when you need to clean your bit or switch equipment.

These bit guards are made from premium soft polymer rubber manufactured in England. The high-quality stretch rubber is durable enough for regular use while remaining gentle on your horse's mouth.

Rubber bit guards are low-maintenance and can be rinsed clean with water after use. Store them in a cool, dry place to help extend their lifespan, and replace them if they show signs of wear or damage.

Many horse owners find that bit guards help reduce bit-grabbing behavior by making the bit less appealing to grab and creating a softer, less interesting texture. One customer reported that these guards solved their horse's constant bit-shank grabbing problem, though results can vary by horse.
